Generate ideas for blog posts

Ask Google Workspace with Gemini to write a blog post about a particular topic, such as a new product or a webinar. Target the post at a specific customer segment or industry. Modify the results until you reach the right tone. The goal is for Gemini to get you started, generate ideas, and help you evolve your pitch.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, use Help me Write  to write new text.

Prompts:

  • "Write a blog post promoting our webinar on [topic] targeting [audience]."

Example of topic might be "classroom management" while audience is "teachers."

  • "Write 3 social media posts targeted at [audience] telling them about our new product."

Examples of audience might be "tech enthusiasts" or "home owners."

Draft corporate profiles

When a new executive joins the company, quickly draft their profile for the company website. Google Workspace with Gemini can do this based solely on the job role. Or you can ask it to include something personal about the new executive. Gemini can draft the profile, typically creating placeholder information that you can replace and refine.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, use Help me Write  to write new text.

Prompt:

"Help me write a corporate profile for our company web site about a new [job role] joining the company. Mention [something personal about the person]."

Examples of the job role might be "CFO" or "VP of Marketing." Something personal might be a particular hobby or past accomplishment from the person's public job profile.

Rewrite content as a press release

After you complete your blog post, corporate profile, or other event you want to announce to the public, let Google Workspace with Gemini help turn it into a press release. Gemini can provide the framework of a typical press release, with placeholder information that you can refine.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, insert and then select the information you want to summarize. Then use Help me Write  to enter a prompt asking Gemini about the selection.

Prompt:

"Rewrite this corporate profile as a press release announcing that this executive is joining our company."

Email a company announcement

Google Workspace with Gemini can help you write email announcements targeted at your entire company. State briefly what the email is about and suggest a tone. Use Gemini's suggestion as a framework to revise as appropriate.

Setup:

In a Gmail compose window use Help me Write  to write a new email.

Prompt:

"Email the entire company notifying them that we acquired [company name]. Use an excited tone."

Organize a marketing campaign

In Sheets, Google Workspace with Gemini can help outline a new marketing campaign, such as for a product launch or new customer segment. Suggest some content to include, such as budget information or timeline. Or leave the details up to Gemini. Retry a few times to get a range of suggestions.

Setup:

In a blank Google Sheet, use Ask Gemini  to build a new table.

 ""

Prompt:

"Create a marketing campaign and budget table for a new product we are launching. Include a 6-month chronological timeline, starting from now."

Outline presentations

Google Workspace with Gemini can give you a head start outlining presentations, based on just a few words in your prompt. Try to tailor its output by asking it to target a specific audience. Let Gemini generate ideas for your slides, and use its suggestion as a template for building your presentation.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, use Help me Write  to write new text.

Prompt:

"Outline a presentation for a new product rollout showing how it fits in our current marketing strategy. Target the presentation at a [persona]."

Examples of persona might be "individual contributor" or "Marketing VP."

Generate custom visuals

Do you spend a lot of time searching stock art sites for images that only loosely convey your point or concept? Save time and get the actual image you want by using Gemini in Slides. Briefly describe your idea for an image. Then choose a style, such as photographywatercolor, or sketch. Keep generating images until you see one you like.

Setup:

In Google Slides, use Create image  to generate new artwork.

Prompts:

  • "A band playing in the rain with fireworks and the moon in the sky.”

    For the Style, choose Sketch

  • "Black and white table setting with fruits and flowers."

    For the Style, choose Photography.

Create an executive one-pager

Google Workspace with Gemini can help you surface complex ideas to leadership by rewriting a long document as a one-page executive summary. Summarize highlights of a new technology, or briefly outline a new marketing campaign. Let Gemini do the hard work of generating the first draft, which you can more quickly refine.

Setup:

In a Google Doc, insert and then select the information you want to summarize. Then use Help me Write  to enter a prompt asking Gemini about the selection.

Prompt:

"This [complex topic] is too long for our executive leadership to read. Rewrite this document as a one-page executive summary. Use shorter sentences and paragraphs that include bullet points to highlight key points."

Examples of complex topic might be "product plan," "technical description," or "marketing campaign."
