Add your work email

To use your Google Workspace account (such as name@your-company.com) in the Gmail app, open the Gmail app on your Android device and sign in. If you don’t want to use the Gmail app, you can download other apps from web-based email providers in the Play Store app .


Transfer your contacts


From an iOS device

If your contacts are already synced with your Google Workspace account, Google Contacts automatically synchronizes and you don’t need to manually transfer them. 

If your contacts don’t sync with your Google Workspace account, you can transfer them through Apple® iCloud® or iTunes® or use a SIM card.

To check if your contacts are already synced:

  1. On your iOS device, tap Settingsand thenPasswords & Accounts.
  2. Tap your Google Workspace account and check if Contacts is set to On.
  3. If Contacts is set to Off, use one of the options below to transfer your contacts.

Option 1: Transfer your contacts using an iCloud account

  1. Make sure all your contacts are synced to iCloud:
    1. On your iOS device, go to Settingsand thenPasswords & Accounts.
    2. Under Accounts, tap iCloud.
    3. If prompted, enter your passwordand thentap Settings.
    4. Set Contacts to the On position.
    5. When prompted, tap Merge to merge your contacts with iCloud.
  2. In a web browser on your computer, go to iCloud and sign in with your Apple ID.
  3. Click Contacts to open the contact manager.
  4. In the lower-left corner, click Settings and thenSelect All.
  5. Click Settings  again and select Export vCard.
  6. Go to Google Contacts and sign in with your Google Workspace account.
  7. Click Importand thenSelect fileand thenselect your saved vCard fileand thenImport.
    Your contacts are synced to your Google Workspace account.
  8. On the left, click Duplicates and delete any duplicates. 
  9. On your Android device, open the Contacts app and sign in with your Google Workspace account to see your contacts.

Option 2: Transfer your contacts using iTunes

If you don’t have iCloud or Gmail accounts, you can transfer your contacts using iTunes.

  1. Connect your iOS device to your computer, open iTunes, and find your device.
  2. On the Info tab, check the Sync Contacts with box and from the list, select Google Contacts.
  3. Enter your Google Workspace account and wait for your device to sync.
  4. On your Android device, sign in to the Contacts app with your Google Workspace account to see your contacts.

Option 3: Transfer your contacts using a SIM card

Use a SIM card or third-party app to add or transfer your contacts.


From a BlackBerry or Windows Phone

You can transfer contacts by importing them to Google Contacts from a file or using a SIM card.

To import contacts to Google Contacts:

  1. On your computer, open a web browser.
  2. Sign in to the email account with the contacts that you want to export.
  3. Export your contacts to a CSV file and save the file to your hard drive.

  4. Go to Google Contacts and sign in with your Google Workspace account.

  5. On the left, click Importand thenImport Contacts.

  6. Click Select Fileand thenselect your saved CSV fileand thenImport.

  7. To delete any duplicate contacts, on the left, click Duplicatesand thenMerge all
  8. On your Android device, sign in to the Contacts app with your Google Workspace account to see your contacts.

To transfer your contacts using a SIM card:

Use a SIM card or third-party app to add or transfer your contacts.
